Was weighing the options of embarking on that. Since my current job title, besides being a Law Student, is (Freelance) Corporate Writer & Copy Consultant, I would like to do something which would not result in conflicts of interests while being able to increase my rates. Making the matters “worst”, I’m more inclined to use the next 6 years - including the BLS Final Year - to raise capital.

However, I’m going to go through the website of the Institue of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) <Link>. Concurrently, there’s another browser which I opened up, the Chartered Institute of Marketing of Singapore (CIM) <Link>. The latter’s more directed to my destination.

Becoming a COO?! O.o I thought that was only possible for company owners?! lol…

I'm not aware of who among our seniors went to that path. I remembered during CAIRO, the guy gave a talk about this mentioned that the qualification in applying this course only opens to Business-related-courses and Law graduates. They prefer law grads though because legal knowledge is quite essential when becoming a Company Secretary. However, the subjects offered are mostly business oriented and because law graduates did not have any business background, so we have to take extra subjects as opposed to the business graduates. and the fees are quite expensive.. hehe. I'm not sure whether you knew about this, but these Company secretaries are not the person who sits behind the desk, pick up phone calls while twirling their hairs tau... this company secretary stands as tall as the CEO. They will be dealing a lot between the Board of Directors of the company and the shareholders... they will make sure that the company follows the company constitution when conducting business. if they failed to do so, they may be liable. yes, I'm going for the LLB.. hehe... normal la tu kan...
